This fabulous apartment has that little something extra that you don't find every day of the week. It has been lovingly restored by two artists who fell in love with Cracow, and they've managed to create an elegant atmosphere that feels absolutely in sync with the city's style. It is possible to rent the entire flat, which comprises of some 140 metres squared, and they can also pick you up on arrival. Breakfast can be arranged, and the owners are full of insider tips on what's best in the city.

We spent 4 nights in the Marie Curie apartment in September 2006 . The apartment is very clean , tidy & spacious . All 3 of the bedrooms are quite large & although there were only 5 of us , you could comfortably sleep more . We particularly liked having 3 bathrooms , which was a great advantage over similar properties we looked at . The position near the Planty , is close to all the attractions in the centre & transport links . All in all , a nice & attractive apartment , which we would have no hesitation in booking again .

I really recommend this. I enjoyed the contrast between faded bourgeois splendour on the outside, with freshness and comfort inside the flat. Comfortable bed with crisp white sheets. Friendly, helpful young couple. Plus it's very central.

Not, alas, for people with mobility problems, as there are four flights of stairs up and no lift. But that's how authentic it is. What must be the original ( 188-?) mail boxes are still in the downstairs hall.

Incidentally I came from London by train. If you have the time and want to be environmentally friendly and see the countries you go through, you can do this by booking with Deutsche Bahn via Berlin. The whole trip takes about 24 hours and costs £246 return if you book in advance - which includes 2 nights B and B on the sleeper.

On our way back home to the States we decided to visit 5 Marii Curie st for a long weekend. Friends had raved about the city of Kracow and in particular this little hide away B+B. The service was charming and the bed (important to my wife) was really comfy. We were ideally located to wander off and visit local attractions. I found myself drinking local brew beer whilst people watching most of Sunday! It was a pleasure to stay at and so cheap for what you got in return. Next time we will stay longer (if they have room by then)
