Ars Hostel

These guys certainly know their stuff - as you'd expect from a company that also organises tours of the city. The hostel itself has an excellent spot in between the Old Town and the quirky district of Kazimierz. There's free internet access, bike rental and every fifth night is free. You'll also get a 30 % percent reduction on tours, whether it's a walk through historic Cracow or a trip to the Salt Mines or Auschwitz. |

And the winners are...
Forget about the Oscars, these are the awards that count in Krakow, year on year.
We refer of course to the Cracow-life Best Places accolad...

My problem with Ars is that somehow, after booking on Hostelworld, we did not have a room available. This would have been all good and fine, but the owner sent us (as per the hsotel world agreement) to another hostel a few streets away... this hostel was so subpar and honestly disgusting, that we needed to leave. I'm not too picky with where I sleep in terms of hostels; I'm expecting cleanliness and safety which this place did not offer. And considering the fact that Ars sent us there (as opposed to say another better hsotel nearby like Momotown which is where we gound on our own), well I think that reflects poorly on Ars.
