This exquisite apartment is one of the best that we've seen in a long time. It was created by a young Polish designer whose family was compelled to emigrate after the War. Her great uncle, Alfons Karpinski, was one of the artists who hung out at the legendary Art Nouveau cafe round the corner - Michalik's Den. Rumours of dancing naked at Karpinski's favourite spot spread like hell-fire, although as it was, most of the artists went on to become venerable, moustachioed professors. Alfons's niece has clearly inherited the artistic touch, and she won her spurs decorating Manolo Blahnik's shop in London. If you're after a serene home from home then this is the one for you. Here you'll be able to savour a string of gracious rooms, a beautifully finished bathroom and an attractive, modern kitchen. And of course, you're just a step away from all of Cracow's treasures, not least Michalik's Den itself. One word of warning though, the age of dancing naked has passed in the cafe, so you'll have to save such antics for later.
