U Pana Cogito

This charming fourteen bedroom hotel/pensjonat is a very welcome addition to the Krakow accommodation front. The building itself is a rather splendid villa in the relatively undiscovered district of Debniki, just over the river from the Wawel. Each of the comfortable bedrooms is attractively furnished in cool creams and whites, and each come with their own bathroom. The restaurant is a great place to kick off your morning with a hearty Polish breakfast, yet the cosiness of this hotel makes it an appealing place to stay for dinner too. One hidden treasure nearby that is certainly worth exploring is the Zakrzowek lake - a hidden lagoon in an old mine quarry. It's just fifteen minutes or so walk, so ask at reception for directions.

"We're just back from a 5 night stay and were very impressed. Our room was a small suite, very modern and clean. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The one dinner we had in the hotel was very good as were the breakfasts (could do with a bit more variety). Although classed as a pension, it is very professionally run and more comfortable than most 3 or 4 star hotels we've stayed in. It is in a quiet part of Krakow beside a small market square, but is only about 5 minutes from a bus or tram stop, and about 15 to 20 minute walk to the Old Town Market Square (even closer to Wawel Castle). A lovely place to stay in a lovely city."

"We spent one night in Pan Cogito on Wianki 2007 celebration, it was quite, clean, very professional.. We had the best room in the hotel, with bath, shower and continental included in the morning... with all the action around Krakow it was quite in our room, nice remote place for the place... Would recomend it to anyone...."
