Hotel Wilga

Hotel Wilga may be a little outside of the centre, but it's got its fair share of plus points, not least a reasonable price. Its located in a modern building by the southern bend in the Vistula River and some rooms overlook Wawel Castle, and their modern facilities are designed to host individual and business guests as well as tourist groups. The bedrooms themselves (35 comfortable single, double 3- and 4-bed rooms, all with bathrooms en suite) have a decidedly futuristic flavour, with gleaming silver bed spreads and pleasant bathrooms. Bonuses include a fine bowling alley downstairs (the only in-hotel alley in Krakow), as well as a decent sized pool table. The hotel also takes pride in its restaurant. The historic district of Kazimierz is in easy walking distance, as is Podgorze, which is beginning to experience a Renaissance.

"WE stayed at your hotel because we were transferred there from hotel petrus on monday 15th October - friday 19th October 2007. We used your triple room for a disabled person because my son is a wheelchair user. The shower area flooded the bathroom because the floor was not slanted towards the drainage but towards the wall and door. We reported this the first night but no one was sent to repair it with a sealant. We were unable to use the shower properly again. The lift shaft smelled terrible from the sewerage in the basement, in the mornings it was bad but by the evening it was repulsive and offensive, you need to get this sorted. It is a shame you have these problems that you MUST know about but do nothing about because we do not have any other complaint. The room was comfy, clean and large enough to cater for a wheelchair user and your staff were very courteous and helpful and youe meals were very good. I hope you will correct the bathroom drainage and the sewerage leakage so that we could recommmend your hotel but at the moment I would not recommend it."

"I stayed at the Wilga 2 years ago. Female travelling solo with daily visits to Auschwitz. Staff were excellent; friendly, professional - nothing being too much trouble. Accommodation again excellent; immaculate with modern en-suite facilities. I intended eating out of an evening, but remained in the hotel due to the excellent choice and quality of the meals. Whilst the location of the hotel is a walk away from the centre it gives the explorer ideal opportunity to walk and see the old Krakow of days gone. There are no negatives about this hotel."
