Hotel Saski is located in the heart of Cracow, just 50 metres from the Rynek (Main Market Square), in a listed 15th Century building. There are a good range of high standard single, double and triple rooms to stay in, warm and friendly service, and reasonable prices (which include VAT charges and breakfast) Hotel Saski's position right in the centre of Cracow allows guest easy access to all the interesting sites in the city, as well as other business and government centres. Hotels Saski's proximity to the rail and bus stations also makes it easy to enjoy trips to places around the city, such as Wieliczka (Salt Mines), Auschwitz and Niepolomice (home of the Polish bison). A great base for your stay in Cracow. Check out their website (adjacent) for prices and special offers.

Hotel Saski

Top place indeed, me and my wife stayed there last month. We loved the hotel and Krakow.

We loved the character of the hotel and its location - so near everything. Room was simply furnished but spacious and very clean. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. The only downside was , with a room looking onto the street it was quite noisy at night. The solution to that is to ask for a room that looks onto courtyard.

reviewed by Ruth Craib from United Kingdom on Oct.17.2011

Superb location. The hotel itself is of standard but decent quality. As you will hardly be spending any time time in the hotel itself, one of the very best bases for your stay. Good value too.

Location is great and the staff was very friendly. Character of hotel with a history.

Absolutely outstanding value for money. The restaurant where the breakfast was served was very stylish & food was top quality. A gem in Old Town.

Very close to the main square. Standard of care and food in restaurant was excellent.

I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. Everything mentioned in the previous reviews is correct. I just wouldn't agree about the breakfast as I found a dark bar to be a very atmospheric restaurant. Also the food selection was great for me. Greetings from Zurich to everyone!

Comfortable, homely environment

The hotel was very clean, reception staff and porters excellent. Was disappointed in breakfast as the choice of bread and foods served in a dark bar and not as good as in other hotels. The hotel was ideally placed for visiting the Old Town

Very good location, less than a minute's walk from the Main Square. Attractive old-style hotel. Atractive spacious reception hall with comfortable seating. Very pleasant helpful porters. The old-fashioned cage-style elevator was an old-world joy. The corridors are wide, brightly lit, and well-carpeted. Our double bedroom was spacious, high-ceilinged, with two double windows (well-curtained). The TV showed BBC World News & CNN, as well as Polish & German channels. The beds were very comfortable.

Noise from nearby nightclub was a little disturbing at 4am each day

We loved the Hotel Saski. The people were very nice, the breakfast was great, and the location couldn't be better. Our recommendation is: don't bother paying extra for the "traditional" room. There's no air conditioning and it's comfortable, but it doesn't look like the picture. Get a renovated modern room. Those are perfect.

reviewed by Isabel from United States on Sep.23.2009

Basic but grand. Good breakfast and arranged all our tours. So close to the main square too. Expected more but just didn't need it.

reviewed by from United States on Aug.20.2009

Suited our needs perfectly. Not too expensive but very central. Loved the antique lift!

The Saski is a lovely hotel. We walked everywhere as the hotel was convienient for the castle and the city centre. We would recommend the hotel to friends.

On 21st Nov 2008 10 women arrived at the Saski for my friends 40th weekend.. They were totally unfazed and very helpful. The birthday girl and myself got a lovely big room, which was clean and well maintained. The other girls rooms were slightly smaller but of the same standard. The staff were very helpful at directing us to places and the breakfast in the Metropolis restaurant was lovely. They didn't even mind when we rolled in at 4 am lol. Would highly recommend it as it's in a great location. Auschwizc is worth a visit if you get chance.

I enjoyed my stay at Saski. WE first got a very small and simple room, but after making a change our room was nice and big with a clean bathroom. The hotel has a simple standard but but everything you need and the location is superb. And the elevator is worth a stay on its own

I adore Hotel Saski. I have stayed here twice, once while traveling alone, and another time while traveling with my mother. Saski is just a stone's throw from the Main Market Square. The staff are always friendly and available. There is 24-7 internet service available, if you ask for the key to the internet room. The only thing to be wary of, is the lack of air conditioning on very hot summer nights. However, they have gorgeous large windows to open and let in a good evening breeze. I plan on returning to Krakow again within the year and staying at Hotel Saski for a third time.

reviewed by Michelle Speed from United States on Sep.19.2008

I found Cracow a beautiful city and enjoyed my stay at Hotel Saski. The staff was friendly and helpful. Most of all I find, seen from a tourist's point of view, that the hotel is ideally situated.

We loved the Saski hotel! We travelled to Krakow with friends - and all 8 of us surely enjoyed this hotel!

We were 4 adults and 4 small children.

The rooms were great, clean and nice.
The breakfast in the restaurant was really good.
The location was perfeckt!

We saw the Wavel Castle, Aqua Park, The Zoo and the wonderful city of Krakow!

We recommand everyone, adults and children, to visit Krakow!!! And the Saski hotel is the best choice!

A really decent hotel with an excellent location. Good value for money. Nothing fancy, but I've stayed here twice and on both ocasions was very happy indeed with the service, standard of accommodation and the price. Seems to be very popular (by my reckoning) so would recommend to book well in advance. Literally 50 yards from the Market Square.

reviewed by Peter Evans from United Kingdom on Feb.07.2008

My first trip to Europe and I ended up at the Hotel Saski. Totally incidental…and perfect in so many ways. It's seconds away from the square which is perfect. Every single person that worked there was so kind, especially one of the bartenders that worked in the morning. Marta, if you’re out there Amy, Joel and I still talk about you fondly.

Rooms were cozy and clean. I had a room with no shower but the shower was only steps away and it was always clean. I felt like I was coming home every night even though I was in a place thousands of miles away from my little home in the middle of nowhere Yacolt, Washington. USA.

For unseasoned travelers that haven’t been out of The States I couldn’t recommend a better place. My friends that are Expats and have traveled all over Europe fell in love with Krakow and so did I. A big part of that was the hospitality of the people and the accommodations of Hotel Saski.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Right in the heart of Krakow, great place with a fantastic ornate lift. Couldnt recomment it more!

reviewed by James McGinnessi from Ireland on Oct.25.2007

Saski Hotel is reasonable value but you have to be careful about which room you have as some are very small and quite noisy during summer when Krakow plays all night. However it is conveniently located.
Breakfast is included and it is served at the adjacent restaurant " Metropolitan". A good choice and the best staff we found in Krakow. We went back for dinner and i do nbot know why this restaurant is not on the Cracow-Life list. It is simply a gem! THe Food is fresh and delicious, the staff wonderful and the price; well you simply cannot believe how low it is for that quality.Krakow is a great town and Metroploitan is the best restaurant we ate at during our stay in Poland.

July 2007, stayed at the Saski for 4 nights, very pleasant hotel room basic but very clean, bathroom shower only modern and clean, we were on 2nd floor overlooking courtyard with a small bar which closes at 10pm so no problem with noise. Staff very nice and helpful. Breakfast very nice with plenty of choice for continental style. We liked the bar in the Metropolitan staff very friendly. Just minutes from the fantastic square and excellent base for all the great sites of Krakow. Had a great break.

reviewed by Linda from United Kingdom on Jul.22.2007

The location was excellent. My room was not as great as my other friends rooms. I would question if this a UK 4 star hotel. The inclusive breakfast was ok but I paid for a breakfast and it was excellent. Staff were friendly and professional.

reviewed by Ross from United Kingdom on Jul.10.2007

Highly recommend this hotel, surprised it is classed as budget as it seems on par with 4* in UK + great atmosphere. We had a senior suite, it was gorgeous, very grand and tastefully decorated, which is more than can be said for our friends room, which was 'different'! The hotel is centrally situated, a stones throw from the square. Can be a little noisy on the night. The complimentary breakfast was OK. The hotel bar, 'The Metropole' was excellent, we all met up there everynight, the 'mojitos' are worth a try. As with most things in Krakow, price was low compared with UK. We were all sad to leave and would definitely stay in the Saski again when we return to Krakow.

Very good hotel. The prices were reasonable for the stay. We have jut returned from a 3 night stay in October and we could not have asked for a better location. Perfect for getting about in town - and just in the right place to get back to when you're feet have had enough after a walking day out. Adjoining restaurant is also very good - with GREAT staff. A really enjoyable break and a hotel to recommend to all.

reviewed by Carl McIver from United Kingdom on Oct.26.2006

Wonderful location, not too expensive for where it is, and very friendly adjoining breakfast bar and restaurant (Metropolitan). The room was relatively plain but clean and adequate. Charming old rattling lift - a real feature; and a touch of fin-de-siecle grandeur to the building itself. But the location alone is enough to make it an excellent bet. Tea and coffe-making facilities in the rooms could have made it even better.

Truly great location and good value. The Metropolitan bar/dinner served really good food at a good price and all the staff were really polite and helpful. I was even able to get a game of chess! Internet for free in the hotel too.Thoroughly recommend it.Only not 5/5 because the bedroom was a little cold as the curtains were a bit skimpy.

I love Krakow. Only here could I stay in such a nice hotel as Saski, so close to (inside!) the center of town, and still walk away with money in my pocket. This Hotel is easily one of the best bets in town. Top notch service, high standards, the BEST location... the list goes on and on. Thank you for a great stay. I will most definitely come back.

Excellent value for money, especially as it is right next to the Market Square. We were impressed with the old lift, and there is a very nice restaurant, called the Metropolitan, right next door. All round, Hotel Saski is really very good indeed.

reviewed by Piers J from United Kingdom on Oct.29.2004

My sister and I stayed in the Saski during our first ever trip to Poland. We were very impressed with the friendly staff, the adjourning bistro, and the beautiful original old lift.
When we found our room, we were amazed at the double doors that greeted us, and even more so when we went inside the room. The hallway was huge with a coat stand, a shoe rack and a huge full length mirror- and we weren't even inside the main room yet!. The room was sparsely decorated but this gave the room a very specious feel, especially with the tall ceilings, long drapes and complimenting old style antique furniture. The only downside was the lack of coffee making facilities in the room. I am staying in the Saski again shortly and this time am taking my parents..so it goes without saying that I would recommend this hotel highly.

I stayed here once and had a nice room on the second floor. Unfrilly but clean, attractive style. Magnificent old building. Well-restored. Had birds eye view of the gargoyles on the opposite building. Most charming lift that I have ever been in - a century old wooden number! Metropolitan next door excellent restaurant, with marvelous English breakfasts. Saski is a good value, unpretentious hotel and excellent Old Town location.
