"I stayed in four different apartments, and the most striking thing is how uneven they are in quality and value--and how surprised the staff were that anyone might complain. The staff were also slow in bringing us what we needed (like an extra set of keys--why they wouldn't give two people two sets from the start was confusing). The Florian is by far the best. The Little Florian was much too small and noisy, but fine. The Opera... fine on the inside, but at night that pretty looking window/balcony (from the ad picture) is covered with pigeon poop and throngs of sleeping pigeons-creepy, and a problem especially in the summer, when you have to choose between getting air AND pigeons in the room, or getting neither. Finally, the Mariacki is small but lovely, cozy, romantic--and quiet. BUT there's a gate at the bottom floor, three flights down steep stairs, that is locked for the night and can be unlocked only with a key. The morning we were leaving around 6, we left our key in the secure box on the top floor only to find ourselves LOCKED IN. we almost missed our international flight, and it's a huge fire hazard. when we told the staff, they said they know about it. so why didn't they tell us, or post a note to remind guests? same thing happened to our friends, who also almost missed their flight.
