Globtroter

"Krakow was the highlight of our trip and the Globtroter made it possible: Beautiful room and garden setting, just a few blocks from all the major sites, wonderful restaurants and cafes nearby and warm, helpful people on staff who even arranged a tour to the Wieliczka Salt Mine for us. We highly recommend the Globtroter for visitors to Krakow."

"Found Globtroter on Cracow Life and Rick Steves. I usually take excess praise with a grain of salt, but in June of 2009 Globtroter lived up to the compliments. Location is excellent, one street from the main line of restaurants and grand hotels. Peter was excellent at assisting everything from side trips to WiFi computer access. If you plan to do Auschwitz, remember it is a bit of a trek. Peter offered us a tour and Marek was the most patient of drivers. Note about Auschwitz: the camps are free to the world but the locals that run tours onsite are more than a bit biased. I would trust Globtroter & Krakow for a stress free, romantic getaway. (Polish food was actually less expensive and better quality than our next stop--Paris."

"Wonderful place, in a perfect location. We could even hear the bell and bugle call from St Mary's, and the garden is beautiful. The staff were untiringly helpful, and the balcony would have been a heavenly place to have breakfast if only the rain permitted. I don't suppose even the nice Globtroter staff could have helped that though...."

"Everything I want to say has already been said by other guests about the Globtroter. What better recommendation? Everything was just perfect - no frills or anything fancy - just a friendly, clean, wonderfully situated guesthouse - must surely be the best in Krakow.Comes highly recommended !"

"Hotel was basic, clean, comfortable and good value. The staff were exceptional with advice on where to eat and how to get around and they also spoke good English. Nothing was too much trouble. There is a communal fridge which is very handy and my children used the free internet. We used taxi transfers and trips organised by the hotel which was completely hassle-free. Only slight negative was that one of the drivers was a bit crazy with his driving and didn't get the air-con running enough for us in the back of the VW minibus in 26 degrees of heat.If you want a friendly and good value hotel within a 2 minute walk of central Krakow, then look no further."

"What a fantastic place to stay, better than a 5* hotel. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us (carrying our bags to our room, giving useful information and maps for our location, recommending good places to eat). The room was very comfortable and clean and overlooking the lovely courtyard and we could sit out in the evening on the balcony enjoying the peace and quiet. The bathroom was large with a powerful double shower and fresh towels every day. There was a kettle in the room with tea and coffee provided and a communal fridge on the landing with fresh milk, this was also handy for chilling that essential bottle of wine. The location could not have been better, literally round the corner from the old town square.I would not hesitate in recommending Globtroter and its staff to anyone visiting Krakow and I would like to thank the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.Chris and Lynda.UK"

"As always my stay was very pleasant. The globtroter is clean, convenient, cosy, reasonably priced and full of extremely helpful and friendly staff. I can highly recommend. I have stayed here now 5 times, and have booked to stay again this september. I have stayed in other places in cracow but none have been of the globtroter standard (despite being the same sort of price!). Highly recommend."

Very clean. Every thing you need tea/coffee, Tv. in room, & hot water, use of fridge, Internet and best of all NO corridor football. Within easy reach of the Train/Bus station and the main square. "Why Can't All Places Be Like This?...From the friendly reception by Rafael, to the quiet setting, to the convenient location, to the hot water kettle in the room, to the competitive price--this place was a very pleasant surprise. We had talked to three separate groups of people who had stayed in Krakow, on or near Market Square, and all had complained about the noise, This place is very quiet. .The only real negative comment we have is from the Auschwitz tour we took through the Globtroter. It was supposed to be for 8 people and somehow ended up being for 9, which meant 4 of us were jammed into the back seat of a VW van--a tight fit for the hour and a half ride each way. Otherwise, we want to clone this place somehow."

"We stayed 4 nights, expecting to have a double room but actually got an apartment! Incredibly good value, wonderful location. Staff couldn't be more helpful, even carried our cases up to the second floor. The only downside, for two women of mature years, was the flight of stairs and the fact that the light went out before we reached the top!!"

"When we booked The Globtrotter we were unsure what to expect ,but simply went on the reviews of other people. The hotel really lived up to these reviews. It was clean and set in a perfect situation just off the main square. It was like a little haven of peace and quiet. Our room was basic, but very clean and spacious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We paid for a trip to Aushwitz with our hotel and it took away the rush for the train or bus.Would definately stay again and fully intend to visit Krakow again in the future. "I loved the very Polish (rather than homogenised international) atmosphere and combination of comfort and simplicity at the Globtroter. It was a delight to have everything one needed and nothing one didn't! Tea and coffee in the room was so welcome (so rare in European hotels). Great to have a fridge for storage and a library of English books! The staff are astonishingly bi-lingual and totally helpful and welcoming. The location so near the Rynek Glowny was the crowning glory. We could reach everything we wanted to see on foot and were only minutes away from excellent restaurants and wonderful shops and markets. I will recommend you to my friends, as well as mentioning the very luxurious apartment you also have available at a very reasonable price. Thank you!"

"Just spent 5 nights at the Globtroter - fantastic service, the staff where warm, welcoming and extremely helpful and all at a really reasonable price. The location was perfect for reaching the Old Town and accessability to more cafes and restaurants then we could sample. My room was perfectly situated, balcony - lots of space for everything, well serviced and quiet. The central heating was magnificient - winds, rain and snow and the place was so warm - I had to turn it off and was still cosy! One suggestion - eco washing powder for the linen.. Thank you for all your wonderful service."

"I've just returned from Krakow and can't wait to go back. Seven times I've been there in the past 18 months and seven times I've stayed at Globtroter. Seventh heaven! I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else. I've gone to Krakow on my own and with friends, and every time it has been to Globtroter. The hotel itself ticks all the boxes and deserves every praise, but what makes the place so very special is the staff. As a travel journalist I spend a lot of nights in hotels with umpteen stars after their names, but the real stars at the cheap and cheerful Globtroter are the staff. No exaggeration, they are the friendliest, most knowledgeable and most helpful I have ever known, and my friends in Belfast and Dublin agree."

"I had a FANTASTIC stay at the Globtroter!!!! Five stars! All of the staff were very helpful, kind and did everything from day trips to educating me on the Krakow tram system. The staff would even chat with me about Krakow, Polish culture and give me information on places to see and what to do and how to save money in doing it. If you stay in Krakow stay here. Spotless rooms, beautiful building, the great staff make this place a gem and a home. The rooms are clean as a whistle, the building, halls and reception are clean, warm and smell of poutpori makes for a welcome difference from the sterlile and souless feeling of your standard hotel or hostel. I noticed care in every detail - including a towel warmer in my room, a fantastic shower and laundry service. This place is a winner! I will be staying here again. Tell them Stuart sent ya !"
