"Right in the heart of the historic Old Town. Globtroter is a a traditional and peaceful courtyard annexed with 9 rooms, very clean and large, and 3 apartments each with private and new bathroom, satellite television and telephone, reception 24 hours, free internet access, reading room, at exceptionally prices. Friendly staff, fluent in English, helping to organize trips and transfers. I have stayed at the Glotroter many times and each time my stay is perfect...no complaints at all. Restaurants and pubs, all is few steps from this place. None match the value for money, cleanliness, location and friendliness of Globtroter. "

"The Globtrotter was truly a gem of a find. The staff were wonderful with arranging our trip to auschwitz very sad but so well done and a must to do whilst your there. Thanks to Daniel our driver for the day. The room was big and warm (a must for February weather)The Globtrotter does not look impressive from the outside but as you go through to the entrance you enter a lovley courtyard area which makes it so quiet. The shower had a big cublicle and was powerful. Krakow is so compact and easy to find your way around. We can recommend the Dog In The Fog on Tomasza street at the far end for great food at very resonable prices"

"This place is a gem. Its clean, comfortable, roomy, well priced, quiet and secure. From here you can book tours and arrange airport transfers. The internet is available, there is a reading room and table tennis in the basement. Its location is second to none - 100 metres to the main square and restaurants within 50 metres. A great thing about this place is that it does not have direct street frontage. Access to the hotel is via an arcade through an adjoining building. At the end of the arcade you walk through a door into a small courtyard and from there to the reception. In a minute you go from the hustle and bustle of the city streets to a quiet enclave. The whole building is drenched in character - it resonates with the history of Krakow. I would recommend this place and if ever I have the fortune to visit Krakow again I will stay here"

"Nice clean, warm room with comfortable beds. Lots of space for 3 adults sharing a family room. Bathroom was as good as new - good shower, plenty of hot water, towels(supplied) could be dried on a heated rail. Excellent location - central, but our room overlooked the quiet courtyard. Staff were friendly and helpful. We thought that a total cost of 75PLN for collection from the airport was very good value. Thank you Globtroter - highly recommended. "

"I absolutely loved staying here! Perfect location - just off the Main Square in the Old Town, on a street with nice restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, and yet very quiet at night with a pretty courtyard. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and accommodating- have honestly never met such genuinely kind and helpful people at any hotel reception before! They really helped us see the very best of an already wonderful city and country. Our apartment was also large, perfectly clean, and really pretty. I would highly recommend staying here. "

"I have been coming to Krakow since 2008 and the only place I stay is Globtroter. There are many factors why I stay here, to name a few- it is in the middle of town, well connected, close to lot of attractions and a very friendly staff. If anybody want to have a peaceful place to stay in the middle of the lively Krakow town centre, I would only recommend Globtroter. As we say in Hindi-Sakoon and chan--means peace and quiet."

"Superb guest house bang in the centre of the old part of this beautiful city. Location would be hard to beat at any price - seconds from restaurants (Metropolitan breakfast hard to beat)and only a couple of minutes leisurely stroll from Rynek Glowny. Exceptionally good staff - probably the most helpful and friendly we have ever encountered. Large rooms with good facilities and spotlessly clean. Finding decent accommodation at a reasonable price can be a bit of hit and miss game at the best of times - but with Globtroter we were absolutely delighted with our choice and plan to return (yet again!)in 2010."

"Perfect place to stay in Krakow! Great location (just 2 minutes on foot from the Main Market Square, walking distance to Wawel Castle and Cathedral, but still very peaceful!), great staff, and great rooms. Very clean, very cozy, and very reasonably priced! With free internet and even a ping pong table in the den, I have no hesitation about recommending the Globtroter to all traveling to or within Poland... "A simple but fantastic guest house which looked just like a grotto in the snow! Really good value for money considering the location and the rooms. There were 3 of us in a 4 bed apartment, which had loads of space for us. The reception staff were really patient (when we had to ask them the same questions over again!) and always smiling. Krakow itself was fantastic, both by day and night - but do remember your woolies at this time of year! Would go back in a minute - not least for the pierogi (local speciality dumplings, perfect hangover food...)"

"This is a wonderful find in Kraków. Its location is excellent, right on the edge of the old town and only about a 15 minute walk to the RR station. The staff were super friendly and all spoke excellent English and were very helpful. The room (a single ) was spotlessly clean, with high beamed ceilings, extremely warm and cozy, with a lovely covered veranda looking out over the private courtyard. It's set away from the street so it was astoundingly quiet. Great value. Loved it! Will definitely stay there again."

"A very nice room, which was very warm (important in freezing January) well looked after with fresh tea and coffee daily and towels as needed. Staff were very polite at all times. The fact there was no breakfast was not important as there is plenty of eating places serving breakfast literally next door. A small mini-fridge in the room would be nice to keep milk/beer/wine but not essential."

"I have stayed at the Glotroter about 7 times now, and each time my stay is perfect...no complaints at all. I have tried other places in Krakow, but none match the value for money, cleanliness, location and friendliness of Globtroter. I must mention that it was -22 celcius when I was there and our rooms were always lovely and warm. Also, our transfer vehicle (back to the airport) had frozen up and Globtroter staff immediately arranged an alternative taxi for us. All in all, a fantastic place to stay, I recommend it highly."

"I am always a bit concerned booking a hotel, sight unseen, relying on the hotel's website. Isn't every hotel friendly, well-located, within steps of XYZ? Well I found out about the Globtroter on the Rick Steves website and then went to the hotel's website. And guess what - it is a very friendly hotel and it is located within steps of so many of the attractions in central Krakow. Finding the hotel was a bit of a challenge, but that was a good thing. Central Krakow, around the Main Square can be a bit noisy. There seems to be a bar or a restaurant in every little nook and crannie. The hotel does not front onto the street, but rather is down a passage way and is found in the interior courtyard of several other buildings. This means that it is very quiet with no sounds coming from traffic or bar patrons. You look out your rooms, or sit on the balcony and you really do think that you have been transported out of the city. There are trees, flowers and birds (August 2009). The staff at the hotel are very friendly and most helpful. When we wanted to go on the Auschwitz - Birkenau tour, the hotel staff was there to drive us out, get our tickets and to wait for us until we were done. We also heard stories about sites along the way. It was clear that we could take as much time as we wanted and they would be there for us. The same occurred on the day that we wished to go to the salt mine as Wieliczka, when the owner took us out and waited. On arrival they handed us a map with recommended places for breakfast and places for dinner. The desk was manned 24 hours a day and there was always a friendly greeting on arrival. They were also happy to simply chat about the city, the sites, or life in general. All spoke excellent English. We had the family suite which contained 3 single beds in one room and one single bed in another. The latter also contained a small eating area. Outside our room door was access to the balcony area where it was relaxing to have a coffee or a beer. In the courtyard below was the outdoor patio for the neighbouring restaurant. That place was open during the day, but closed early in the evening. The room also had its own bathroom and shower.. Wireless internet was available and there also was a reading room with books, magazines and a computer with internet access. there was even a book exchange. The hotel is minutes away from the Main Square, and well located for any shopping, eating, drinking or dancing that you might care to do. Be sure to spend some time shopping in the market square. Look for concerts that might pop up in some very small churches. The Globtroter was also very reasonably priced. I would go back to Globtroter in a heartbeat, and to Krakow as well. It is quite a city. "

"I stayed here with my family in September 2009. We had spent three months travelling through Europe and this was easily our favourite place - great value for money, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, lovely atmospheric rooms and great location. The staff were fantastic - they took my laundry for me, loaned me money for a stamp when I didn't have the change and booked trips for us at the drop of a hat. They also advised us on some great places to eat! There's nothing I'd fault about the place - I'd go back there in a shot."

"The Globtroter Guest House is probably the best place I have stayed at in Krakow in its price range – and I am a regular visitor to the city. I had a single, which was en-suite with a decent, very clean bathroom, and was surprisingly large for a single; it had tea/coffee making facilities too. The bed was a very comfortable one, and the décor and curtains better than most hotels I’ve used in Poland. There was even satellite TV with BBC World and CNN amongst other channels. And there’s room with free Internet for guests and one with a fridge! Its location is perfect being only a block away from the main square (Rynek), yet set back from the main street in a courtyard meaning it is always very quiet – no sleepless nights here! Security is better than most hotels – you get keys for the outside doors as well as your room. Although breakfast is not included and there is no restaurant, there is a great Polish place next door and another across the square where you can get both English and Polish breakfasts at a decent price – the coffee is better at the one opposite but the next door one is very good value and has great Polish food.
