Hostel Mundo

Mundo opened in Spring 2007 and it lays claim to being the most luxurious hostel in Cracow. How long it maintains such a mantle depends very much on the stoutness of their cleaning staff! Meanwhile, Mundo is offering modern bathrooms, a big common room and a bar that boasts a range of ballistic Polish beers. The guest rooms and dorms follow the Mundo theme, with each one echoing a different country on the backpacking trail. The hostel is parked slap bang between the Old Town and Kazimierz, not a bad spot for backpackers. The Kazimierz district has recently emerged as a hip spot for artistic hedonists and hedonists masquerading as artists. Cafes and bars galore!

Great place. Staff really nice and helpful. Great socialist themed rooms. As a group they gave us our own space which was like an apartment. Fantastic unlimited breakfast - good fresh salad, excellent cottage cheese relish, lovely array of meats and cheeses.

Stayed here for 3 nights in July 2008. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the rooms were amazingly clean and the breakfast was fantastic. Free internet, endless supplies of tea and coffee and a great location. Would definitely go there again

Great hostel. Very clean, the lounge area is fantastic.

Also the staff phoned up for a takeaway pizza for us (and translated the menu).

We stayed in Hostel Mundo for four nights. Because we booked our rooms only few days before coming, we were first in Tibet and then in Hawaii rooms, which were both great. Breakfasts were really good with always something different. Hostel was also VERY clean. We also had a great polish BBQ party.. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend Hostel Mundo for everyone visiting Cracow!

Best I've been to! Very clean, friendly and in the mornings even delicious. The staff is an awesome bunch of great people, they helped us with many many things. And the rooms are great. Can't wait to get back!

Fresh coffee day in, day out. Always fresh flowers too. Fresh jokes occasionally ;) Fresh location, too, yet peaceful enough for adult travellers who want their sleep.

w Krakowie. Fajny orientalno-afrykanski wystroj, schludne czyscitkie pokoje. Komfortowe i eleganckie lazienki. Przemila mloda obsluga z usmiechem spelniajaca wszelkie zyczenia. rano pyszne sniadanko. Na miejscu internet 24h mini sklepik z napojami. no i dwie rzeczy, ktore decyduja o fajnosci tego miejsca - malutki i zawsze oceniony tarasik w cieniu drzew i lokalizacja - rzut beretem od rynku. a atmosrey opisac sie nie da warto przyjechac i sprawdzic

One of the best (OK, the best;) hostels I've ever been to - and 've been to good couple of them. The room we were given was just amazing (Africa), the stuff was superb nice and helpful, and the breakfast every morning...hmm, simply amazing :) Mentioning a fantastic location in the centre of the Old Town is not necessary anymore;). My friends believe right now every hostel in Poland is like that (which I wish was a true!). Anyway, time spent there was just great - many, many thanks, MUNDO!!

O Albergue 'du Munde' e muito bem localizado perto da estacao de onibus e de trem; e do centro da cidade. E possivel ir caminhando do Albergue ate estes locais.As pessoas adoraveis, os quartos limpo e confortaveis. O cafe da manha e bom, e voce pode utilizar a cozinha para fazer o almoco e o jantar. Os banheiros sao bons e limpos tambem.

Gente querida, decoracion agradable, limpio & buena vibra. La ubicacion esta muy bien, distancia caminable desde la estacion del tren y bus, y al centro de la ciudad.

De lo mejorcito que hemos encontrado por Europa. Todo nuevo, amueblado con estilo y realmente limpio. Regentado por gente muy joven. Da gusto tratar con este tipo de personas.

Een luxe hostel; mooi, schoon en lekker ontbijt. Het personeel is hulpvaardig en erg aardig. Het is iets duurder dan de andere hostels maar je krijgt er veel meer voor terug!

Ich verbrachte hier ledigich eine Nacht und ich wünschte es wären mehr gewesen, was mein Zeitplan nicht zuließ.
Ein toller Platz, unglaublich nettes Personal, ein gigantisch leckeres Frühstück und die Ausstattung, wie sie angenehmer in keinem Superhotel sein könnte.
Alternatives Ambiente, welches durch die Musik, die es in der Küche zu hören gibt nur unterstrichen wird.
Auf der kleinen Terasse im Grünen fühlt man sich wie in der Südsee.
Ich sage Euch eins, wenn Ihr Euren Krakaubesuch mit einem fantastischen Platz zum Ausspannen beginnen möchtet, dann kommt ins Hostel Mundo, eine Oase der Stille und Entspannung in den Hinterhöfen im Herzen Krakaus, seinen Preis ist es wert.

Si bien el idioma y cultura son muy diferentes en este lugar te sientes bien acogido , con muchas facilidades tales cuales como desayuno gratis , 24 horas disponibilidad , acceso a internet gratuito , y ambiente muy agradable .

very close to the central tourist area which is beautiful, very handy services and clean. includes breakfast which is always handy as well. the staff are very nice to and if u are in need of directions or Advice regarding krakow they will always be there to help out. its 24 hours open as well and krakow is most beautiful at night so this is definitely necessary.

What can I say - absolutely superb hostel.
Brand new, clean tidy, well fitted out.
Great friendly staff who go out of their way to help.
Net access, clean bedclothes, excellent breakfast, hot running tea and coffee when you want.
Nice relaxing atmosphere.
Stayed in a dorm room (on my own) lockers provided and as with any hostel the accommodation is quite basic but you are only there to sleep!
Bathroom facilities are excellent and better than some 5 star top range hotels I've stayed in.
Dont let the entrance through the apartment block corridor put you off, this place is a great find and I would not hesitate to recommend it to my close friends travelling.

A lovely well-appointed hostel in a quiet courtyard close to the interesting bits of Krakow. We loved the style, the friendliness and the great breakfasts.

Eu adorei esse hostel, o alojamento é muito bom, o atendimento é otmo (atendimento em português...rs previlegiado)... muito bonito e bem situado na cidade, sem falar da limpeza...
lá se encontra gente do mundo tudo até um brasuca como eu (o primeiro brasuca do hostel...rs)...

Superb :-) This is definitely the best hostel I ever visited! To be sure, these words are spoken by an experienced traveller, who has visited more than 20 countries, and who has seen more than a 100 hostels worldwide from the inside.
The standard of comfort and hygiene is in fact higher than that of many hotels I stayed at (incl. many in Western Europe).
The interior is unusually enchanting, with a mystic taste of meditation from the Far East, and the atmosphere is unusually peaceful and magic, because the hostel is surrounded by a large green garden. The serene beauty of this garden can be experienced while enjoying a tea, a coffee or a beer on the terrace of the hostel.
Although you are at an ideal location, right in the heart of old Cracow -it's only a few 100m both to Kazimierz and to the Central Market Square- the only sound you can hear from the rooms are the wind playing in the trees of the garden, and the lively song of the birds.
For those of us who have to count money, there is good news as well. The price is similar to that of any other hostel in Cracow: I paid only PLN.60 for a night, and got much more for it that at any other place. Breakfast and coffee/tea are included in the price, and here you get a real breakfast, with a large assortment of bread, meat, cheese, jam and yoghurt.
And, last but not least, the owner and the staff are extremely friendly, warm and helpful. They really made me feel welcome and at home right from the beginning, and I noticed that the other guests present had the same pleasant experience with them :-)
This is definitely a place I would recommend to all my friends, if they were to visit Cracow :-)
