Empik email

Been to Krakow and you still don't know where this place is? Liar! The biggest store on the square, situated very near the Marian Basilica is as noticeable as the Cloth Halls themselves. You will find everything here. A quick tour: the ground level features news, magazines (in many languages), picture development, perfumes. Going up: books, maps, guides, concert tickets, paper products. Get higher, baby: children's lit, self-help books, law/economics/humanities/foreign languages, coffee shop, gallery. 3rd floor (4th floor for you Yankees and Canucks): kick it in gear and pick up the latest in PC, XBox, Playstation and Wii games! Finally, go all the way down to the lowest level for all of your music and movie needs. Empik plays an important social role as well; you will frequently find book-signings, mini-concerts and star-gazers here.

Empik

few levels of book extravaganza, very helpful & young staff.

I like popping in and browsing through photography books section. Always a good coffee in Empik Cafe too.

QUIT complaining it's not that bad

It's not Poland's answer to Foyle's in London's Charing Cross. Empik has its own history. All the students read, but hardly anyone ever seems to buy anything, because they can't afford, and that's sad truth! If book costs 35zl and hourly rate is 5zl if they are lucky enough to find a job!

books looked nice, but me can't read no good

Poland's answer to Foyle's in London's Charing Cross. All the students read, but hardly anyone ever seems to buy anything! A good place to dive into on a rainy afternoon.

I love this store - it truly has it all!
You only forgot to include the cellar level - with a wide sellection of CD, DVD, VHS and old LP's on a two level cellar floor (where you can loose a good couple of hours without even realizing it)!

A ex-pat life-line. Excellent selection of newspapers and magazines. For Brits there's even Q, Sight and Sound, NME, The Spectator. Great range of books and music too. Indispensable

You've gotta hand it to Empik - this place is just swarming with shoppers. Now the cold weather has set in, its going to become even more popular. There's a nice little internet cafe where you can often get away from the crowds, and a good coffee shop too. DVDs in the basement if you need some home cinema action.
