Krakow's New Year's Eve shenanigans are legendary, with things culminating in a stupendous concert and fireworks display on the Old Town Square. However, if you're shacking up at the Stary, the show-stealer is that you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Stary's sleek terrace has the finest view over the great plaza itself, and you'll be looked after by the most dedicated staff in town. As any sane Cracovian will tell you, revellers need a suit of medieval armour to party on the square - owing to the hallowed tradition of obliterating champagne bottles - but at the Stary you can let your hair down without having to wear Sir Lancelot's visor. 
Partiers at Hotel Stary will be welcomed into the reborn mansion with a bubbly aperitif, and a delectable dinner will then be waiting... The Cracovian family that owns the hotel has a soft spot for Italy, and they spend a great deal of time tracking down epicurean treasures from the land of Leonardo. Some specially chosen wines are on hand and four delicious dishes are lined up. Besides this, a mouth-watering buffet will be laid on, offering a range of delicacies that will delight gourmets. Fresh fish, frutti di mare, foie gras and some truffle treats are all to be savoured, complimented by a range of classic Polish hors d'oeuvres.
As the big hand approaches midnight, guests will be welcomed onto the rooftop terrace to toast the New Year. Flutes of champagne will be poured for the big moment, and you can soak up the swirling colours on the square below. When you want to return to the cosy indoors, a live band will be letting rip.
