Cracow's first football match was held on the Blonia common in 1894. Although the location itself has not changed, things have come a long way since then, and Blonia now boasts two whopping stadiums. Cracovia's home can be found on the southern fringe of the common, and if you're inspired to check out the local talent, then you could have no finer introduction to the passionate world of Polish football. With its claim to fame as the oldest football club in Poland, and the Pope as one of its supporters, Cracovia is the heart of football in Cracow!

Referring to my earlier message about Sheffield FC playing Cracovia I have now found out that we (Sheffield FC) are actually playing Liga 3 side KS Hutnik Krakow instead.

There is a sports shop on grodska, past prozac on the left hand side walking towards wawel, you should be able to get one in there, sorry i dont know the name of it.

Does anybody know where you can buy a Cracovia top from? Nobody seems to be selling them on the internet.

I read that Pope John Paul II supported Cracovia. Is that true?

My team, Sheffield FC are the FIFA recognised oldest team in the world, and we are 152 years old!. On 25 July 09 we are playing a friendly in Cracow against Cracovia?. Should be an interesting match as we play in Unibond League 1 south which is 8 divisions below the Premiership

Tomorrow we go by car to Krakow(1300 km)for a long weekend city trip and of course "the Holy War" Wisla-Cracovia derby on Sunday 22/03. We
wonder what an experience this will
be, reading all the stories about the
violence around this derby. We hope
there also will be Cracovia fans in
the stadium. Can anyone from there
tell us more about a good pub for
atmosphere before the match ? And is
it dangerous around the ground ?

Cracovia... So far from Curitiba, Brazil - the most "polish" of the brazilian cities. The Pope was here, in ´80. We created a very beautiful park, "o Bosque do Papa" (Pope´s Park), with a little chapel consagrated to Our Lady of Cestokowa. Cracovia ! The team of our beloved Pope ! Our Saint John Paul II ! Our "João de Deus" (John of God). Fans of Cracovia, all the best for you ! (My team in Brazil is Coritiba FC a good choice for all of you...)
