ARS Cinema email

This is perhaps the smartest cinema in Cracow, a very gracious place that's spread across two former mansions just off the market square. There are five screens in all, the most inspiring being the Reduta which is in an old ballroom, making this a distinctly Cracovian experience. The quality of the films is correspondingly high, with a good mix of international hits alongside some lesser known European gems.

It's definitely worth check out this cinema. They play a good mix of arthouse and some mainstream movies, and the theater itself is really unique.

One of my favourite cinemas in Krakow. Especially Reduta!

If you are looking for the Poland's Cinema Paradiso, a world away from the anonymous multiplexes, then this is the place! A unique experience and probably one of the last old movie theatres left in Europe.

Fabulous. Smallest little screen I've ever been in where they have a bar so you can have a beer during the movie. Rickety spiral staircase to the balcony with enough space for 6 or 7 people. Old fashioned projector so the movie stops for an interval so that they can change the reels. Definitely worth a visit

They always show some of the more offbeat movies that you will not find in the mainstream shopping centre cinemas. Cheap too.

This is a fun place, I have to say. I agree with the previous writer - it just has so much more atmosphere than new cinemas. You can see the projectionist hanging out of the window overlooking the main street sometimes, having a cigarette! Very cool, man! Best of all, try and get into the TINY cinema in the annexe - probably fits about 20 people, smaller even than the famous Minema in London!

Slightly run-down but atmosperic and lively cinema - a brilliant change from the cheerless multiplexes of Western Europe, and right in the heart of the Old Town. Plays lots of blockbusters (normally in English with Polish subtitles) as well as a number of Art House Classics. Nice little internet cafe in the annexe, popcorn, soda, the works!
