Krakowianka Ice Rink

Knocked sideways by the Polish Winter? There's no beating it so you may as well embrace it like the happy dogs jumping around the Planty. Krakovianka has two rinks - a big'un and a small-un. It has slightly irregular hours, with all day sessions at the weekends on the big rink (Saturdays 8.30am-9.30pm, Sundays 8.30-8pm) and 9.30am to 4pm on the small rink. On Mondays there's a session at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on the big rink, 8.30pm on Tuesday and 5 pm on Thursday. The whole place is closed on Wednesdays and Fridays.

I had great fun with my wife and children at the rink. I truly recommend to see the local hockey team, "Cracovia" match.

It should be noted here that the rink is not open all the time. It is open to public skating only in the fall and winter on Mondays Wednesdays, and Thursdays evenings, and for most of the afternoon on weekends. This schedule is also sometimes interrupted by by ice hockey matches or other events. Current schedules are posted at www.cracovia.pl

It is being renovated, but it's open during the renovations. You just have to walk a little ways from the ticket booth to the rink.

Perhaps I should clarify that it was being renovated. Surely though this site should keep people informed.

We went there today (14/09/2009) and it was closed. Perhaps someone should have updated this page!
