Budget airline Wizz Air is to start flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to the Polish city of Gdansk.
The carrier, which in less than 12 months has carried more than 65,000 passengers to and from JLA, already operates routes to two other Polish destinations, Warsaw and Katowice.
Wizz Air will operate three flights a week to Gdansk in the north of Poland, located on the Baltic Sea coast and increase frequency to Warsaw and Katowice from three weekly flights to five.
Annual passenger throughput between Liverpool and Poland is set to double with over 160,000 passengers expected to travel on the routes over the coming year.
The airline's existing services between Liverpool and Poland have seen around 40% of passengers originate from Poland with many believed to be visitors taking advantage of the low cost fares and the opportunity to visit Merseyside and North West England for the first time.
Wizz Air chief executive József Váradi said: "We've been successfully growing our business from Gdansk. Last August we started operations with a London flight and Liverpool now becomes the fourth city that we will serve from northern Poland."
