Walesa's innocence confirmed

The Institute of National Remembrance should soon confirm that any accusations against Lech Walesa are false. A special written confirmation will be handed in personally by the head of the Institute, professor Leon Kieres.

Walesa demanded such confirmation in March this year when the right wing Radio Maryja accused him of being a member of the communist secret service. Such accusations have been voiced repeatedly since the early 1990s, yet they have never been proven.

This time the Institute organised a thorough search of archives to find any materials concerning the ex-president.
