Day Of Museums

Culture vultures will find dozens of museums open for free this Sunday (16th October). So if thunder cracks and lightening lashes, there will at least be some consolation. Nevertheless, even if it's hot enough to wear a Hawaiian shirt, we'd still recommend dropping into at least one - there are so many decent museums in Cracow that you might spend years getting to know them all. Of course, when you get back home you'll be able to amaze your friends with your sparkling insights into Central European culture. And here's a tip, Polish art will soon be huge in the West. Forget about Klimt, Monet and Magritte: check out Witkacy, Wyspianski and Wojtkiewicz. Pronounced them all correctly? Glad to hear it.

Have a browse through our culture section for more info on what's on offer in the museum world - you can pick up a complete list of the institutions taking part at the cultural information office at ul. sw. Jana 2.
