Poland Sends Condolences To US

 

Polish president Aleksander Kwasniewski sent a letter of condolences to his American counterpart G. W. Bush in which he talked of being “shocked by the enormity of the destruction” done by hurricane Katrina. Kwasniewski’s message also read that Poles learned with deep sadness of the horrific destruction left by the hurricane despite preventative measures being taken”.

Several hundred people are feared dead in the US southern states of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama which had been struck by hurricane Katrina on Monday. 80% of New Orleans is still under water.
