Coca Cola Calls Time
Beverage producer Coca-Cola will pull its sodas out of Polish elementary schools and replace them with bottled water and fruit juices due to growing public concerns about child obesity, company officials informed.
Iwona Sarachman, a spokeswoman for Coca-Cola Poland confirmed that children returning to schools in September will not find Coke and other sweetened Coca-Cola products in vending machines there.
According to Agnieszka Krejner, environmental and regulatory affairs manager, the company made the decision voluntarily after observing public debates over the problem of child obesity.
