A 53-year-old Polish cyclist has made it into the Guinness Book of records for notching up a staggering 807 kilometres on bicycle in just 24 hours.

It's not the first taste of Guinness glory for the pacey Pole. No, his last attempt a year ago also made it into the record book. On that occasion he managed a mighty 752 km.

The valiant fellow is in fact a PE teacher, but he has also been an amateur cyclist for the last 20 years. Somehow, we're sure that this isn't the last we'll hear of this tarmac-busting enthusiast from northern Poland.800 km next year?
