Every nation wants to feel like they are still powerful and have a strong standing in the world today. All ex-superpowers feel this way - not just Russia. I am English and even I believe we would be better off as a nation if we remained an empire as we once were.
Even though I do not blame the younger generations of Russia, the Russians with pro-soviet feelings (including Putin) have had this kind of violence and anti-russian hatred coming their way for a long time now and even though I think 15 fighting 3 is not a fair contest, its simply payback for old Russia transforming what was before WW2, a prosperous Poland into an economic shadow after the fall of the Soviet Union.
I have visited my family in Poland recently & was surprised that my cousin being late-20's was completely unaware of how it was the Russians that put your fine countries econmic structure back decades. And that Stalin ordered the death sentence to every Polish war hero who fought for POLAND (not Russia) during WW2. I did not educate her of this as did not want to upset her but proves how the Russian propeganda education system then in Poland hid all these facts from alot of young Poles today.
I beleive I have a right to a say on this subject as my Grandfather is Polish. After serving in the Polish army and escaping a forced labour camp when captured by the Germans during start of WW2 he escaped to England where he joined the RAF. After WW2 he decided to stay in England while the rest of my Polish family returned to settle in Szczecin that was recently annexed from the border region of Germany and given to the the Soviet Union by the allies.
I myself am a Sergeant serving in the Royal Air Force and have been to Afghanistan many times, so have seen Afghan tribal attitudes to Russia aswell. Places like that also prove that overtly aggressive dictator heads like Putin always lose in the end.
My warmest regards to all my Polish brothers,
Mario
