Cracow Girl Wins Wimbledon

Could a Pole be the next star of Womens Tennis? Polish sport pundits are hoping for just that after Cracovian tennis ace Agnieszka Radwanska won this years Wimbledon Womens' Tournament for juniors.

16 year old Radwanska was unseeded for the tournament and she had only competed once before in a grass competetion. However, these factors did little to offset her balance as she battled her way through a host of young hopefuls from across the world.

Agnieszka's father was himself a former Polish tennis champion, although he never achieved the prize of prizes - the Wimbledon trophy. His sights are now set on glory for his young girls.

Agnieszka's 14 year old sister Urszula was also competing in the tournament and she joined her sister in the doubles contest. However, as luck would have it their big match took place the same day as Agnieszka's final, and after winning the first set 6-4 the sister combo began to run out of steam.... Next year perhaps!
