The Flying Gnome

Prize-winning artist Cezary Bodzianowski plummeted out of the snowy skies yesterday, landing on the pagan burial mound of Prince Krak, legendary founder of the city.

The artist, who has been described as a 'champion of the absurd' was neither shaken nor stirred after completing his daredevil parachuting escapade.

'It was a heavy landing, but I'm happy,'' remarked the red-faced artist as he brushed off the snow from his jacket.

Bodzianowski chose to sport a maroon bobble hat and a thick navy blue jacket for his adventure, a combination that leant him the appearance of a flying gnome.

The elusive entertainer was voted Poland's most popular artist by 'Raster' magazine, and a month ago he won the gong for best artist at the prestigious 'Polityka' awards. Born in 1968, Bodzianowski spends most of his time in the former industrial city of Lodz. He has taken part in exhibitions across Europe.
