This Sunday Cracow's Main Market Square will kick back into action after the fantastic frolics of the New Year. The WOSP Charity Day, now in its 13th year, will see concerts taking place in cities across Poland, and in Cracow the stage is set for some of the country's top bands.
The event is always a jolly affair, and as usual it will be televised by the TVP2 station. Funds will go towards Polish Health services, and this year the focus is on providing state of the art diagnostics and treatment methods in neonatology and paediatrics.
Stars of this year's show are John Porter and Anita Lipnicka, a soulful duo who's recent album stormed the Polish charts. Welsh veteran Porter, who settled in Poland in the Cold War Years, hooked up with young rose Lipnicka two years ago, with tremendous results. The couple make a great joke of their romantic entanglement, much to the delight of the press. Other well known acts performing will be Lady Pank, Zandarm and Kulturka. The concert itself is free, whilst volunteers will make a collection for the charities.
The event will be rounded off in the evening with the special 'Light To Heaven' laser show. All in all it's a great cause and well worth checking out - see you there!
