The organisers of this year's Krakow Film Festival have already received more than 2,000 submissions from directors keen to make their name at a competition which is growing in prestige year on year.
And the panel has not ruled out the possibility that even more entries - sometimes more than 100 a day in the past - could still arrive between now and the end of the month.
The next stage will be to sift through every film submitted, looking for those that really stand out as worthy of making it through to the next round.
And, though the festival itself may not be due to open until May this year, there's going to be no let-up for the organisers and judges in preparation for the big event.
