Have a heart
Cracovians, tourists and students all joined Poland's largest single fundraising drive - The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
They're still counting the proceeds from the big push on January 8 - but if the sea of red heart stickers worn by those who had made donations was anything to go by, the charity is well on its way to reaching the 50 million złoty mark this year.
The charity, Wielkiej Orkiestry Świątecznej Pomocy in Polish, was established in 1993 to raise money for children's health projects.
This year, many Krakow institutions too part in the fundraising,
including the Gallery of 19th Century Polish Art in the Sukiennice. There, they enlisted 500 volunteers to help organise fundraising events, and welcomed around 9,000 visitors keen to do their bit. The initial count at the museum on the day reached 321,348zł, with more expected to come in.
