Cannes, Venice, Sundance... Krakow
The world's most famous film festivals have contributed to the fourth Krakow Off Plus Camera festival of independent cinema (April 8-17).
This year’s festival includes the Polish premiere of director Peter Weir’s new drama The Way Back – based on the true story of escape from a Russian gulag in 1940.
In the Filming Women programme is Mathieu Amalric’s On Tour – which won the director a Palme D’Or at Cannes – and Whip It, with Drew Barrymore. Chang-dong Lee’s Poetry is prime among the Asian cinema offerings.
Mix these with some of the most exciting discoveries from film festivals around the world – including Helen Mirren’s performance in The Tempest, film buffs will be served up with more than 100 movies over the ten days of the festival.

The festival takes place at cinemas around Krakow, with HQ at Kino pod Baranami.
