Cracking the Pizza World Record
Chefs from one of Cracow's pizzerias have obliterated the world record for the largest pizza ever baked.
The ambitious cooks rolled out a strip of dough some 1.1 km long on the Blonia, the ancient common that has witnessed everything from Cracow's first football match to masses by Pope John II.
It seems that someone up in heaven was smiling on the proceedings last Sunday, as the chefs succeeded in baking their kilometre-long whopper.
The pizza was rustled up with a somewhat conservative range of toppings: tomato and cheese, but this did little to dull the enthusiasm of those present. To wrap things up, revellers were allowed to consume the gargantuan dish.
Donations were collected for the charity Aktogo, which helps children with brain injuries.
