Schindler Factory Opens Its Doors
Surviving workers of the fabled Schindler Factory were amongst the guests of honour at the opening of a permanent exhibition at the site on Thursday 10th June.
"Krakow Under Nazi Occupation, 1939-1945", which spans several floors of the main administrative building, has been three years in the making.
The exhibition has immediately taken its place as one of the most state of the art in the city. Visitors pass through a labyrinthine series of rooms, following the progress of the Nazi occupation.
Archival film footage, video memoirs of survivors and recreations of typical city scenes all combine to create a compelling evocation of the era.
Oskar Schindler's Factory can be reached by tram from the Main Post Office (corner of ul. Wielopole) to Plac Bohaterow Getta. Walk through the underpass to ul. Kacik, and it's a five-minute walk to ul. Lipowa 4.
A standard ticket costs 15 zloty, museum open Tuesday-Sunday (10am-6pm).
