Polanski Unbowed By Legal Setback
On Friday 22nd January, U.S. judge Peter Espinoza ruled that film director Roman Polanski cannot conclude his legal wrangle by video link-up.
The Los Angeles Superior Court Judge said that he was acting to protect "the dignity of the court," by denying the director trial in absentia.
Polanski's lawyer immediately countered that he would appeal against the decision.
Meanwhile, the Polish director - who is currently under house arrest in his Swiss villa - is keeping himself busy with cinematic work. Besides finishing post-production on his upcoming thriller The Ghost Writer, he is reportedly planning an adaption of award-winning play God of Carnage.
