Christmas Market Open

There may not be much sign of snow, but Cracow's Christmas Market is open for business.

The stalls opened on Friday 27th November under a perfect blue sky. All the usual yuletide attractions, including giant barrels selling mulled wine and sizzling sausage, are doing a roaring trade, in spite of the temperate weather.

Travellers in town on the morning of Thursday 3rd December can also catch the Nativity Scenes Competition, when elaborate Christmas creches are put on display underneath the Mickiewicz statue.

And until 4th December movie buffs can savour the 16th Etiuda and Anima Festival, a banquet for cinephiles, especially those with a soft spot for animation.
