English Pigeon Lobbers Fined In Krakow
Two twenty-four-year-olds from the U.K have been fined for cruelty to animals after injuring pigeons on Cracow's Market Square.
The initial incident occurred on October 24th, when the two holiday-makers decided to pluck a pair of birds from the pavement. The pigeons were then thrown into the air with considerable force, breaking their wings on landing.
The two men, both from Cumbria, were fined 600 zlotys each (130 pounds). Owing to Polish privacy laws, their surnames were not released.
Like the Piazza San Marco in Venice, Krakow's market square has a huge pigeon population, as noted by both drunk and sober visitors to the city.
