Cracow Hosts Congress of Polish Culture

Some of Poland's most distinguished figures in the arts are descending on Cracow this week for the worthy Congress of Polish Culture, a once in a blue moon event that will flatter Cracow's proud status as the country's cultural capital.

Film-makers Andrzej Wajda and Agnieszka Holland are amongst the glittering names due to speak at the Congress, which starts on Wednesday 23rd and finishes on Friday 25th September.

Although most of the symposia of the Congress will be in Polish, that doesn't mean that travellers are left in the lurch. Indeed, the Main Market Square will be hosting a pair of fantastic free concerts, with Klezmer stars Kroke playing on Wednesday alongside Sinfonietta Cracovia and jazz legend Tomasz Stanko stepping up on Thursday 24th (both at 8 pm).
