Hedgehogs Overhead
Badgers, hedgehogs and rabbits heaved a sigh of relief on Monday when it was announced that Poland's first 'wildlife bridge' will be constructed.
The corridor in question is destined for the Swietokrzyskie region, connecting woodland separated by a dual carriageway.
The bridge, which will be a considerable 40 metres wide and 50 metres long, will be landscaped with grass and bushes to heighten its appeal to four-legged foragers.
As Radio Polonia reports, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways is planning more of such wildlife corridors, with two already ear-marked for Kielce and Ostojow.
