Whether or not we'll be singing in the rain like Gene Kelly remains to be seen (the forecasters keep on saying that sun will break through in the end - we so want to believe them...!). Either way, the 19th Festival of Jewish Culture is coming to town, and this year's installment looks set to be one of the best yet.
Originally founded in 1988, right before the collapse of communism, the festival has grown into one of the most prestigious and best-loved in the city's calendar.
Kicking off in earnest on Saturday June 27th, the festival boasts nine days of jam-packed entertainment, as well as a chance to learn about one of the world's richest cultures. Film screenings, book launches, guided walks and cookery sessions will be complemented by dozens of rip-roaring concerts.
The festival climaxes with the unmissable 'Shalom on Szeroka' concert, which sees a string of bands take an open-air stage for one of the best parties of the year.
As always, the lion's share of the events are being hosted in Kazimierz, which for centuries was the hub of Krakow's jewish community. See the link below for a full programme.
