The National Museum in Krakow has just been awarded the Arts & Business 2007 award, representing the most interesting and most effective cooperation of the sphere of business with the spheres of culture and art. In this third edition of the awards, the contest has drawn more participants than ever, emphasizing cultural initiatives involving the private sector.
The awards aim to recognize and reward specific worthy partnerships between the worlds of art and business, a cooperation that has been increasingly popular and beneficial for cultural institutions and businesses alike. The Arts & Business Awards are simply the answer to a market reality which shows an increasing partnership between the two spheres. This year, over 80 projects participated in the contest, and 26 entries were nominated for the award, among them only two museums: the National Museum in Krakow, and the Warsaw Rising Museum in Warsaw. The National Museum received the prize titled Commitment to Europe Arts and Business for their creativity and for seeking alternative sources of funding, their openness in cooperation, as well as a good relationship with the private sector. With the outstanding exhibitions that go there on throughout the year, we can say that it's about time the museum got some (more) recognition! | Source: Cracow Life | Nov.27.2007 |
