This week is a good one for festivals in Krakow, as there are several top fests going on at the same time. First, there's the Etiuda & Anima Animation Festival that started on the 16th and will last through the 22nd of November. While the weekend already saw many cutting-edge films shown, such as the contest winners and a series of German Avantgarde films spanning almost a century, more is to come as the festival comes to a close. Tuesday and Wednesday night features short and feature-length films by eccentric American animator Bill Plympton, while the last day of the festival will include screenings of Russian, Brazilian, and Polish films as well as the final festival winners.
For those who enjoy a bit of audio with their visual, the 15th annual Audio Art Festival is in full swing as well until the 25th of November. Still to come are performances by experimental artists China, France, Denmark, and more. But if Audio Art leaves you longing for more musical laptop beeps and blips, luckily the autumn edition of the Unsound Festival is just around the corner, beginning on the 21st of November and continuing through the 25th. The program includes a handful of discussions and presentations by some of the best independent IDM and electronic labels and their artists. So if you want to beat the cold this week, head inside to the cinemas and clubs and catch some festival action! |
