The New Music Festival (Festiwal "Nowa Muzyka") is taking place this weekend in Cieszyn, a city about 140 km from Krakow on the Czech border. The event is the best place to experience the newest and most experimental music, without having to travel to another country to find it.
The New Music Festival is a chance for new and independent artists to introduce themselves to the festival circuit. As the festival is not limited to one genre but instead looks for the most innovative performers, it features artists representing various musical styles. The New Music Festival aims to be a unique experience rather than just another summer music festival, and a combination of great artists and an enthusiastic crowd have made it so the past few years. Performers include all the newest sounds in electronic, jazz, experimental or dance genres, such as Bonobo Live Band, Amon Tobim Surroundsound, Otto Von Schirach, and many others. Workshops will also take place, letting fans get more involved with new music. Tickets for the two-day event are only 105 PLN after June 30th, as well as for a single day for 70 PLN.
