The Langley Park School for Girls is remembered by one particular Cracow Life editor with particular fondness. It was this venerable institution that not only educated his sister but also provided him with his first joyous (and of course totally innocent) experiences with the members of the fairer sex.
Those times are a distant memory in an old man's mind however and it seems the new generation of Langley Girls have invested their time far more wisely in learning to play their musical instruments, rather than flirting with boys on the Bromley buses.
In fact so finely-tuned are these young girls' talents that they're even being exported from the assembly halls of zone 4 and out into the wide world to find the bigger audience that they deserve. And so it that tomorrow (13th February) you can catch some of Bromley's finest musicians in Krakow.
Head down to the Solvay Centre of Contemporary Art (Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej Solvay) ul. Zakopianskiej 62 by the Zakopianka Shopping Centre and find the girls breezing through jazz classics such as Echoes of Harlem, Mack the
Knife, Big Spender, Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend, The Beat Goes On, Mas Que Nada, Walk on by, Green Onions, Oye Coma Va and My Funny Valentine.
The concert starts at 19:00 and is free to get in. |
