He was one of the unlikeliest sporting heroes of the last decade - a small, frail-looking fellow who looked like he might have trouble lifting a box of apples. But Adam Malysz, also known as "The Polish Batman' and 'The Flying Moustache,' won Polish hearts half a decade ago by winning three world ski-jumping cups in a row.
Then things started to go down hill...
Well, OK, he didn't turn into a narcotics fiend, frittering his cash away on a playboy lifestyle. But the Flying Moustache just hasn't been hitting form over the last couple of years. It was painful to watch. Until this weekend.
That's right, he's back. Malysz won the World Cup event at Obersdorf this Saturday, beating back double Olympic Champion Thomas Morgenstern in an inspired piece of air-surfing magic. The win followed on from success in Zakopane the previous week, leading pundits to hail an emphatic return to form. We hope they're right. Jazda, jazda, jazda!
