Poster Art in Krakow

The opening of the exhibit “Pracownia Plakatu” (“Poster Workshop”) from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow will take place this Tuesday, 7 November, beginning at 17.30 at the Palace of Art at pl. Szczepanski 4, and the exhibit will be shown until 3 December.

The exhibit is not a display of student thesis works, but rather a display of the most popular pieces from the workshop of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, in which dozens of incredible works are presented every day – but shown in a more public setting.

Led for several years by Prof. Piotr Kunce, the Workshop became a real school of intellectual exercises on cultural and social subjects presented in the medium of the poster.

The Poster Workshop organized an array of large international expositions (in Budapest, Vienna, Kiev, Mexico City and Brussels). The most important achievement was an invitation to take part in the International Poster Biennale in Mexico City in 2002.
