Poland's capital is abuzz with showbiz glamour at the moment as Miss World 2006 gets underway. But alas - it seems that things have gotten off to a rather shaky start for one particular lady. Indeed, it has emerged that Miss England has lost a 3 foot high vanity case which was jammed full with all the essential goodies. Besides all the key clothing and cosmetics, the crucial backing track to the damsel's showtime song was also amongst the stolen articles.
But somewhere in Oxford, a hero - or rather heroine - was at hand. Indeed, Miss England's loyal mother decided that this was a moment for Supermum. Hardly leaving herself time to make a quick cuppa, she jetted the seven hundred miles to Warsaw with some backup baggage. The day was saved.
