Next time for Polish ace!

Barely had we mentioned Cracow girl Agnieszka Radwanska's success in this year's Wimbledon when cruel fate intervened and dashed the young Pole's hopes. Radwanska, who had advanced to the fourth round of the tennis championship, was soundly beaten yesterday by Belgian star Kim Clijsters, the winner of last year's US Open.

Still, let's not be downhearted! It was a sterling debut for the Cracovian starlet, who was playing in her first major adult tournament. Following victory in the Wimbledon Women's Junior Tournament last year, she has just became the most successful Polish lady at Wimbledon since the 1930's. Her fourth round clash was indeed a short and sharp affair (6 - 2, 6 - 2), but her opponent was quick to point out that the seventeen-year-old was one to watch in the future. Wise words from the Belgian champ!
