A theft at football star Jerzy Dudek's English house has added insult to injury after the twin disappointments of this year's World Cup.
Dudek returned this week from a holiday in his native Poland, only to find that his entire medal collection had been swiped. Besides his laurels from the legendary 2005 Champions League victory, Dudek has also been relieved of over 100 Premiership shirts and numerous other pieces of memorabilia.
Dudek had made a couple of appearances on Polish television over the last two weeks, after being invited to comment on Poland's World Cup performances. However, his own disappointment at remaining unpicked for the Polish team remained a bitter pill to swallow.
The Polish ace, who became an overnight hero with his plucky saves in the Champions League Final, is said to be devastated by the thefts.
"We are talking about the memorabilia of someone's career and also a lifetime" a Liverpool spokesmen told the Associated Press.
