Lovers of Art Nouveau should head over to the Szolajski House this summer for one of the season's star exhibitions, a glimpse into the world of Alfons Mucha.
The Czech artist Alfons Mucha (1860-1939) created some of the most memorable posters of the art nouveau era, and his dreamy advertisements are now recognized across the globe.
A hundred years ago, The Museum of Industry in Lwow (now Lviv, Ukraine) started collecting some of Mucha's posters, and seventeen of them are now being exhibited in Cracow now for the first time. If you have a soft spot for the great Alfons, you won't be disappointed.
Finally, don't miss the chance to head upstairs and see some of the creations of his Polish peer, Stanislaw Wyspianski (1869-1907). This attractive museum here is devoted to the Polish master, and for our money, Wyspianski run rings around his contemporaries.
