The third Misteria Paschalia Festival kicks off tonight, and if you're lucky, you may just be able to snatch one of the last tickets.
The popular festival of classical music is a celebration of works that were inspired by Holy Week, and several acclaimed international ensembles are set to perform.
Arte dei Suonatori will be getting the ball rolling tonight at Cracow's Philharmonic Hall, with Antonio Florio raising the conductor's baton. He'll be followed on Good Friday by Fabio Biondi and Europa Galante, whilst on Saturday the festival decamps to the enchanting Chapel of St Kinga in the Wieliczka Salt Mines, where Doulce Memoire will be doing their stuff (6pm). Later that evening there'll be a major show on Cracow's Main Market Square, and the festival continues on Easter Sunday with harpsichord sensation Pierre Hantai playing Bach's French Suites. The following evening things finish with a bang at the Philharmonic where Antonio Florio will be conducting La Capella de Turchini through Vivaldi's 'Motetti e Concerti'. Enjoy!
