An advisor to the Russian president Sergei Yastzhemsbki is in Warsaw for talks on the improvement of Polish-Russian relations. He is meeting foreign minister Stefan Meller and is expected to hold talks with President Lech Kaczynski. The first signals suggesting a possible thaw in the tense bilateral relations appeared some two weeks ago. Last January Russian president Vladimir Putin spoke warmly of Poland at a meeting with foreign journalists.
