Charity Event Reaches All Time High
Poland‘s largest charity fundraising event the Grand Orchestra of Charity Help, which involved over 120 thousand volunteers in the streets of all Polish cities and worldwide has already collected 24 million zloty since its Sunday finale.
Each year since 1992 the Foundation has been raising funds for the treatment of various diseases. This time all the money raised will be spent on saving kids wounded in accidents and on teaching young Poles the rules of first aid.
The fundraising was accompanied by charity concerts and numerous auctions. Some of the items put out for bidding included a guitar of Carlos Santana, a shirt of Jean Michele Jarre and a sports shirt with signatures of the Polish women’s volleyball team who defended the title of European Champions last year. The Grand Orchestra of Charity Help has so far collected 60 million USD.
