Everyone knows that when war breaks out it is the men who don uniforms and take up arms – usually in a futile and wasteful effort that ends badly. But what of the women left behind? This exhibition poses this question, with special reference to the wives, mothers, sisters and daughters left behind in occupied Krakow. It focuses especially on the lives of 12 women who were here during the war. An excellent excuse, should you need one, to visit or review the excellent Schindler Factory museum.
