The Gallery of 19th Century Art in the Cloth Hall
3/9/2010 - 1/10/2013
Krakow's oldest public gallery reopened to great fanfare in September after a four-year-renovation. As it turned out, the results were well worth the wait. Located in the Cloth Hall, the revamped gallery boasts a horde of stirring canvases, many painted to "uplift hearts" during the period when Poland was wiped off the map. Amongst the novelties are a rousing rooftop cafe and a hi-tech visitor centre where history buffs can venture into the past via virtual reality.
